Oh yes, I know that I've had this blog for some time now and that more and more people are starting to discover it, but I got bored of it's usability.
I want to blog faster and more intuitive. I'm not into writing personal stories or publishing novels. I don't need fancy designs, advertising or crappy sidebar plugins. I just want to share what I like with the people that I like.

I tried out a few blogging sites and softwarez; and after a couple of weeks testing and bloggin' I decided to go for Posterous.
Here I can post a new blog item just by sending a simple email to my account or I can use the Firefox plugin and publish a post while browsing. I love it, it's simple, it's clean and just right for me. Plus I can link my posts with my Facebook and Twitter account. So expect to see some # or @ in the title as this is for my tweetfeed.

Michael Jackson is dood, maar zijn dance moves leven verder!
De jonge gastjes in deze videoclip voor Maximus, de nieuwe single van Beni, schudden de vetste moves uit hun mouwen en benen. Vergeet Tektonik, deze mix van MJ moves, poppin', breakin' en hullahooping is super vet! Waarom heeft StuBru eigenlijk deze funky track nog niet opgepikt?

De videoclip werd geregistreerd door de Australiërs van Moopjaw, eerder ook al verantwoordelijk voor deze retro videoclip van Miami Horror.

Beni en Miami Horror draaiden onlangs samen Mashed in elkaar, een super dubbel mixalbum voor Ministry of Sound Australie. Featuring tracks van Beni, Tiga, Zombie Nation, Jesse Rose, In flagranti, Major Lazer, La Roux, Phoenix, Juan Maclean, and many more. Check it out (dwnld)

QLOCKTWO

Dit is nog een leuk ontwerp: de QLOCKTWO, ontworpen door het Duitse Biegert & Funk, geeft de tijd typografisch weer in 5 minuten intervallen. In de hoeken staan 4 dots die de tussen minuten aangeven.
De klok heeft een uitwisselbaar plexiglas frontcover en is verkrijgbaar in 5 kleuren en 5 talen, waaronder het Nederlands. Te koop via hun shop voor 885€.

The Invisible Man

Liu Bolin is een kunstenaar uit Bejing die snel bekend geworden is als The invisible man. In zijn "camouflage" kunstwerken slaagt hij erin om zijn eigen lichaam als kameleon te beschilderen waardoor hij volledig in de achtergrond verdwijnt. Het idee hiervoor is zeker niet nieuw, maar Liu doet dit met een ongelooflijke precisie! Hij werkt soms bijna 10 uur aan één foto. Soms kun je hem maar net zien tussen de achtergrond zoals bulldozers, vlaggen, gebouwen, graffiti,... Zijn inspiratie komt van zijn gevoel als 'social outcast'.

Speaking about fitness; LCD Soundsystem bracht vorig jaar het fantastische 45.33 uit; een 45-minuten en 33-seconden-lange, continue track van space-rock-disco. Oorspronkelijk was de track bedoeld als muzikale begeleiding bij het joggen als een one-off samenwerking met Nike & iTunes, voor hun Nikeplus Original Run project. Vanwege het succes is 45.33 later ook op CD & vinyl uitgebracht.

Deze maand verschijnt 45.33 Remixed (dwnld) waarop stukken van de album zijn herwerkt door enkele van de beste dance producers zoals Prins Thomas, Theo Parrisch of Pilooski. De remixes verschijnen naast cd ook op 4 limited edition 12". So Check it Out!

Remember these slogans or their ads? Always wanted to know who came up with the idea? Well for some they are today's greatest artists, to others they've sold their soul to the devil, but to the big companies they are know as creatives or advertising agencies.
ART & COPY is a new documentary film about advertising and inspiration; directed by Doug Pray ( SCRATCH, HYPE!), and reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time.
It will probably never make the big screen in Belgium, but we can enjoy the trailer for now and order the DVD in some months.

A-trak Sunday afternoon dj'ing

Yes, it's A-trak laying down some classic tunes at the weekly Sunday afternoon party at The Do-Over in Hollywood, Califoria. Free entrance, BBQ, large Coctails and superb music. Check out the line up at this free party: A-trak, Rich Medina, Mayer Hawthorne, Daz I Kue, Large Professor, Peanut Butter Wolf, Stretch Armstrong, Bobbito & Spinna,... I which we had Sunday afternoon parties like that here in Belgium.
Promoters, who dares to take up the challenge? And don't come telling me there's Bar Solar here in antwerp. I love the location but the vocal-house or zumba music makes me vomit everytime.
Anyway download the A-trak sunday afternoon set packed with the biggest funk, disco, 80's, and hip-hop summertime partybombs. Love it!

Augmented Reality DJ

The developers of Boffswana take augmented reality one step further with this new development of a AR-driver dj mixer for Wrigley 5 gum
As part of the brand's "Stimulate Your Senses" campaign, the challenge from the client was "to produce a sensorial experience online" The result is create the 5 Mixer, which turns visitors into virtual DJs through a set of three different "flavor-inspired" orbs. Once three base tracks have been selected, users can modify the audio being played through the simultaneous use of three controlling Glyphs downloadable off the 5gum site.

I can see many possibilities for future AR applications. I wonder how long it will take for a big music band or artist to release the first AR videoclip? Imagine a band like Gorillaz, Daft Punk or Justice playing on your desk while you get to control the mixing of the song. Hey creative videoclip directors, what are you waiting for!

UPDATE: For the launch of their new album Temporary Pleasure, Simian Mobile Disco has created an Augmented Reality Experience in the form of a temporary installation/ popup store in Carnaby Street, London starting from Mon. 17th Aug. "The installation reflects the concepts behind the record - it's brief, fun, and how could we miss the chance to augment the reality of the general public. The AR technology is amazing and we think people are going to love it." says SMD. I'll post a video as soon as it pops up on the internet!

Jay-Z does No Sleep til Brooklyn as a kick-ass Beastie Boys Tribute! Much better then that lame Coldplay cover of Fight for your right.
Meanwhile Adam 'MCA' Youch had surgery for a minor cancer tumor and is recovering at home while goin' thru radiation treatment. Let's which him a swift recovery for the Beasties upcoming new album and tour!

Gainsbourg, de film! Eindelijk hebben ze dan een acteur gevonden die cool genoeg is om de Serge te spelen! Laat ons hopen dat de film geen zo'n draak wordt als "La Môme" over Edith Piaf.
